With over 20 years of experience as a school social worker and therapist, Stacy Swenson has had the privilege of working with a diverse range of children and families, navigating various challenges and life experiences. Throughout this time, Stacy has been committed to supporting individuals and families in overcoming difficulties and fostering emotional resilience.
Stacy works with children and adolescents ages 6+ providing therapy to children and families. Stacy is passionate about deepening connections and offering a safe, nurturing space for growth and healing. Taking a strengths-based approach, Stacy meets clients where they are, and believes that the key to healing lies in genuine, compassionate relationships. With a belief in the power of connection, humor, and playfulness, Stacy helps clients feel comfortable exploring even the most challenging issues in a lighthearted and non-judgmental way.
Drawing from a variety of therapeutic modalities, Stacy integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), play therapy techniques, psychoeducation/bibliotherapy, as well as other modalities and is always adapting to the unique needs of each client. She values the importance of play in the therapeutic process, particularly with children, as it fosters self-expression, emotional regulation, and problem-solving in a non-threatening way. Collaboration is central to the process, and Stacy works closely with clients to find the approach that best supports their individual goals.
Areas of focus include: anxiety, depression, life transitions, parenting, and emotional regulation. Stacy is committed to helping clients develop the tools they need to take ownership of their healing journey, with an emphasis on mental and emotional well-being.
